In the previous article about flooring inspections, we’ve briefly covered how they look like and why Flooring Detective requests on being paid upfront. In this article, we’ll widen the story about flooring inspections, as you’ll learn about different prices of Flooring Detective inspections. Through that different price plan, you’ll save money as you’ll never get charged for the same things twice and you’ll never get charged for something you don’t need and won’t use.
That being said, let’s explain this a bit!
Verbal report
For a really affordable price Flooring Detective will come to your address and conduct all the investigation which is normally done for a full written report, and he would verbally tell you what the problem is. If necessary, he would get on a call with a flooring contractor and tell him also what the problem is. Basically Flooring Detective will do everything except take those findings and construct a full written report.
Written report for Litigation
Even though Flooring Detective does the same inspection for verbal and for written reports, if you want a full written report it will cost much more. So, why does an inspection with a written report cost more than the same inspection but with the verbal report?
Well, the written reports are used in a court of law and they have to be constructed carefully without any errors. Jeff’s experience in court and litigation taught him that everything that’s in writing has to be absolutely perfect in every segment. From punctuation and grammar to logic and photos, there’s no room for a mistake. If a wrong word is used in a conversation it won’t be a problem, but if a mistake is made in a written report that’s used in litigation, that could cause problems.
However, you won’t always have to pay the full price as you won’t always go to court and need a written report. With step by step pricing, you keep on building towards that ultimate price. Many times you’ll only need the inspection with a verbal report to know what’s wrong with your flooring and get the problem resolved with the contractor. That way you wouldn’t need to pay much more for a full written report of 30 or more pages used in court that you won’t even read through.
Photo pictorial for Mediation
You won’t go to litigation right away so you won’t need the full written report immediately. Firstly you’ll want to know what’s wrong with the floor so Flooring Detective would do the inspection and give you a verbal report, for a truly affordable amount. Next, you could do a photo pictorial, where we introduce the issues and make a Powerpoint slide deck with images visually presenting these problems.
That’s still not a written report, but it can be very useful when going through the process of mediation. We’d sit with a mediator and the opposing side, we’d go through the slides, and we would discuss what the issues are without going to court. The majority of disputes get resolved through mediation after all sides just sit down and talk about the problem like normal, mature human beings.
However, if a problem doesn’t get resolved and you have to go to court, after all, you won’t be charged for the same things twice. You’ll pay on top of the previous fees, only for the written report that you’ll need in litigation. That way you keep on building towards that ultimate price, never being charged for something you don’t need, or for the same things twice.
